1 Start by stamping the bird image twice with black archival
ink. Emboss both images with Cosmic Shimmer Lava Black Aurora Embossing
Powder.
2 Cut out one of the images whole and cut only the hat and the wing and tail on the other image.
3 Colour the images using and mixing Tim Holz Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo on your palette and
using a piece of Cut-n-Dry. Appy the colour to the bird’s back. Use some
Rusty Hinge and a little Adirondack Watermelon for the bird’s breast and Rusty Hinge for
the wing and tail. Colour the hat with
Black Soot distress ink and highlights of Watermelon.
Colour the brim of the hat with a black Promarker
or other black pen. Now take a little
thin bleach on an old fine paintbrush and paint the wing and tail. The Rusty Hinge
will turn colour and lighten. Add a
green Promarker to the bird’s striped
‘waistcoat’. Decoupage the hat and the wing and tail onto the whole image to give a more 3-d appearance to the bird.
4 Stamp and emboss the small, medium and large cogs from the
stamp set with Aurora Lava Black Cosmic Shimmer
Embossing Powder and then colour them with Rusty
Hinge. Then cut them out.
5 Punch a small hole in the bird's hat and thread a chain of jump rings onto the hat. Attach the rings with a small brad to the smallest stamped cog.
6 Cut a square of black card about 6x6 inches and using archival black stamp randomly with the three cog stamps and emboss them randomly with Cosmic Shimmer Lava Black Aurora, Lapis Black Aurora and any gold embossing powder. Mist with Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist: Tarnished Gold, Antique Green and Antique Rose. Crumple the card and dry with a heat gun.
7 Take a piece of kraft card and make small cuts from the centre.
8 Start to tear the card outwards towards the edge and all around the circle.
9 Using Spellbinders M-Bossability Bricks and Bark emboss the card in an embossing machine and then use a skewer or long thin stick to curl the card back around the edges.
10 Using Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets, cut and emboss all the dies in the set using black card stock.
11 Cut the large die in half, and emboss the pieces with gold and Aurora embossing powder.
12 Take a piece of red ribbon and stamp the three cogs randomly with black archival.
13 Start to assemble the card like this.
14 Add all the elements to the card and attach the crumpled and misted black card to the back. Add some black gems or brads to the cogs.
Stamp your sentiment on a piece of card with black archival, tear and distress the edges of the card and colour with Rusty Hinge and Watermelon. Layer the card at a jaunty angle on to a plain piece of white card stock and glitter the edges (see below).
That's all for now and hope to be posting again soon.
