I LOVE RED SHOES

Hello Friends,

This is my first blog entry - A friend of mine asked me to make a card for his wife's birthday and I'd already made a similar card in blue and silver but he wanted red shoes.  I have got into the habit of using spellbinders dies only but as a friend pointed out to me, as much as we all love spellbinders, it's always a good thing to try other media too and not limit yourself.  The shoe was cut on my cutting machine using an svg file from http://svgcuts.com/ ; the name of the svg collection it was taken from is 'Amelia's Accessories'. I cut the shoe at the size it imported into my cutting software, I didn't change it at all, but you can if you want to of course.  This was an 8x8 card front so you can see that it is quite large.  For the negative image of the shoe, I used a piece of plain red card as a background and inserted a piece of white centura pearl card behind it which had been embossed using  'Couture creations' 'Intrinsic' embossing folder.   I then used spellbinders Grand Labels 23 as a backdrop for the negative shoe.   Behind that I used another two papers from Samantha Walker's  digikit 'SW Blossom Papers in Pink'; which came as downloads from http://www.jessicasprague.com/ these were cut in half vertically and attached either side of the red card so they create a backdrop to the plain red card.  The shoe in front was cut from another piece of red glitter card and I added a red felt rolled rose and pearls to the shoe and some rolled roses to the card itself.  The swirls are from 'die-namics' 'fancy flourish'.  The sentiment was typed on my computer using a fancy font and then cut with one of the small spellbinders labels 23 and embellished with pearls.
Hope you like my first entry - bye for now and hope to post again soon.
