Just Because Card and some chat

Good Afternoon Dear Friends,

How nice to be blogging in the New Year.  If anything has woken me up from my lethargic post New Year state it is definitely all those sneak peeks over at Spellbinders PaperArts.  One of the most exciting for me has come today with the announcement  of Spellbinders media mixage line and the new Artisan X-Plorer Machine, a roller machine with more pressure than the Grand Calibur that will supposedly cut and emboss metal and other materials. Over the past few months, working with the design team at Creative Expressions I have become more and more intrigued with the gorgeous makes the team has come up with and really want to try my hand at some mixed media pieces; so it's going to be a learning curve but I will also be making do with what I already have and reading other people's blogs for info on products and how to use them.  I won't be using all those amazing Tim Holz arty products unfortunately (can't afford it right now) but the idea of repurposing what is around the house really appeals to me.  However, I can assure you bloggers that if I have to choose between eating and purchasing the new Spellbinders, I doubt that I would be able to  resist (think of all that weight I'll lose too; and I'll be too happy to be hungry playing with all the new goodies).  But as usual we have to wait until after CHA to get our hands on them and besides, I have so many dies already (some are still in their packets would you believe) so I think it's time to get them out and figure out as many ways as possible to get value for money; after all, we pay enough for them, don't we?  Now this is the second time in this post that I have mentioned that dirty word so do please forgive me, it must be the time of year.  I have a card to show you; I like it and hope you do too!!

Made with Spellbinders Labels 28  and some acetate, I cut the largest of the labels twice on the front and back of an 8x8 card  and cut felt flowers from the Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Spellbinders Set.  The butterfly comes from the  Heartfelt Decorative Butterfly Border Set and the fancy die from   Heartfelt Layered Elegant Swirls
They are sitting on the back window of the card.

I used the sentiment from that fantastic set of stamps from Creative Expressions called Masquerade.  It is one of my fav sets and the quality of the stamps from Creative Expressions is second to none.  I am planning to do a few more makes with that set this week as I haven't had the time over the holiday period.  I added some ribbons and a sweet tiny butterfly from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Set.
Do come back tomorrow, I have another creation to show you.  And by the way, if anyone is planning or has already begun a reducing diet, soup is one of the most nourishing, low calorie, highly nutritional foods you can eat - I have a great recipe that I'm sure you'll love and it is super easy to prepare - I'll put it up on the blog tomorrow.  I've just had a bowl and feel better already.
Have a great evening, do some crafting and forget the chocolate!
