In memory of Aydin Gursoy

Good Morning Everyone

 - hope you all had a good weekend.  I'm posting this card today in memory of my late husband, Aydin - a lover of life, nature and the outdoors.  When he was in hospital I made him a very similar card and we were still hopeful then that he would recover and be with us again but this card was made with a different view;  that he is now free, no longer caged in a hospital bed and can enjoy his life in a better place.    He loved to be active, was extremely sociable with a great sense of humour, outgoing, generous and kind to all creatures.  He loved to feed the birds in our garden and was told off more than once for fattening up the pigeons - but he couldn't ever see any creature hungry, cold or in pain and he touched everyone who came to know him through his gentle and loving nature, genuine love for others and a quiet humility that is so rare.  He also had great courage and strength and was an example to his family.  I am lucky that I had forty wonderful years with him but it wasn't long enough!

And now for the card - this set of Spellbinders is really nice; you can even make a 3d cage with that die by cutting 4 of the cage dies and adhering them together.  The background was embossed using Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Twigs and Tweets, the cutest embossing folder ever.  Here are a few more pics and close ups - hope you like today's post and enjoy the rest of your day - I am going to have some fun in my craft room and hope you get happy and creative too!

This is beautiful mum. Everything you said about dad is right and he is definately free. We miss him terrible, he was an amazing father and we will never forget him. He is in a peaceful realm now and can do everything he has wanted to do but couldn't! Thanks for this card and the bird outside the cage shows just how free he finally is. Thanks mum, for your talent and ever lasting love for dad and our family. We love you x
