Another Steampunk Card

Good Morning Dear Friends

Another steampunk card today - perfect for a guy; these stamps from Papermania's Chronology Collection really lend themselves to masculine cards.  I have used 3 different embossing folders on this card, 2 of them; the clocks and cogs are from Darice and the other one comes from Couture Creations: Uber.  Well I'm not sure what 'uber' means but apparently in German it means 'over', 'above' or 'across'  so I think that fits in with the style of the embossing folder which looks like a constellations map with compasses.   It is a really useful folder as you can use it on corners or small parts of your card and it looks good.  Here's a pic of it:

 The background was stamped with Papermania's curiosities stamp as was the cog in the corner of the card.

I used some distress inks: stormy sky and vintage photo.  I layered the card for dimension and added some embellishments.  a simple card but I think the embossing gives a lot of depth and interest.

Vintage Steampunk Card

Good Afternoon

A Vintage style card today using Sam Poole's SteamPunk Dreams A5 Stamp Plate.  I started with a large piece of card about 9x9 and covered it in modge podge and added some black crumpled up tissue paper left over from a box of shoes.  I highlighted the tissue paper with copper gilding wax.  Over that I added a piece of vintage paper and stamped the phrase with black archival and copper cosmic shimmer embossing powder.

The steampunk dressform was stamped with Black Archival and embossed with copper embossing powder on  torn velum, inked around the edges with  Vintage Photo and the top half of the image coloured with a silver pen.  I added some torn and inked text paper and pieces of lace to create layers under the torn vellum.    The heart was cut with a sizzix die and embossed with a folder from darice.  The key comes from one of the Papermania Chronology Sets.

 

The flower was made with some black lacy material from my stash by attaching to a round of cardstock and twisting the fabric and attaching with a hot glue gun.  I gathered the lace and sewed it in a round and attached it with the hot glue gun under the flower.  I added one of the fancy pearls from Creative Expressions and some feathers and pearls.

Lacy Doily Card

Good Morning Dear Blog Friends

I have another card for you today using the beautiful Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Corner Die again. I simply cut four of the corners and put them together.  These dies are so lovely I don't think I will tire of using them; they have so many possibilities. The background was a piece of white pearlescent cardstock embossed with Spellbinders A4 M-Bossability Graduated Dots as in the image here showing the two sides.  You can see the  side B design is quite interesting too.  The graduated dots are difficult to see on my card because they are covered by the swirly die cuts but it is a nice idea to have the sizes of the dots graduated.  The corners of the card were covered with torn text paper  and inked and a little mica added.

I added a twisted ribbon rose to the centre and a few rolled roses and leaves made from the same text paper.

The sentiment comes from Creative Expressions Special Sentiments A5 Stamp Plate and was cut out with one of the dies from Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accents.

I added some pearls to the butterflies and the centre pieces.

Celtic Easter Card

Good Morning Everyone

Today features   an Easter card I designed using Spellbinders Celtic Motifs.

 The cross and corner motifs and the negative cut out and embossed centre are included in this set as illustrated.

The borders were cut with Spellbinders Bracket Borders One.

I added a flower, a bow and stickpin and a simple sentiment.

Spellbinders Bracket Border Card

Good Morning Blog Friends

Another Spellbinder card using a die that I'm truly in love with - Spellbinders A2 Bracket Border One.  There are 7 dies in this set enabling you to emboss and cut various borders, all of which are amazingly beautiful; really nice to have these fancy shaped borders.

I cut the top and bottom of this card using the above die.  The cardstock was edged with Adirondack Raisin.



The sentiment which I love, is from QuietFire.

                                                      

The sentiment was cut with labels 4 and I cut and attached 2 of the large dies from the Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirls Set and added pearls.

The flowers were cut from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.

Spellbinders Butterfly Corner Card

Good Morning Blog Friends

Here is a card featuring  Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Corner Die.  A very intricate and beautiful die that can be used in a variety of ways.  Here I have simply die cut two corners of a piece of blue card stock measuring approximately 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.

The close up here shows how beautifully this die cuts and how elegant it looks.  I would not, however wish to cut this die without wax paper unless I wanted to ruin my day and get myself in a bad mood; infact, it is advisable to use two layers of Cut Rite Wax Paper and even then I sometimes have to pass it through the machine a couple of times and move the card around on the plate.  However, I think you'll agree that it is a gorgeous die and well worth the effort.  I have highlighted the cuts with  some pearls and gemstones.

The stamp comes from 'Quietfire's Gentle Words '.  I cut the second and third largest of Labels 30 to form the frame cut from some vintage paper and added a few black gems to the frame.  I think lables 30 is one of my favourite labels; the shape is interesting and I like that the largest label is really big and can be used for a small card.

I used Spellbinders Les Papillions to cut the butterfly.

 The large flower was cut with vintage paper using Spellbinders Grand Peony Creations.  I added two rolled flowers cut from felt and  a few black feathers for effect.

The swirl cut from plain black cardstock comes from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.

DT 4 Arthouses for Creative Expressions

GoodAfternoon Everyone

Here is another DT make for Creative Expressions.  I used a postcard background paper.

I stamped the houses in black ink and shadow stamped the background houses with Rusty Hinge distress ink.

I also used one of the butterfly images from Sam Poole's 'Nature's Wonders' Stamp Set and the postmark stamp from 'Arthouses'.

 I used some markers and stickles to colour and embellish the houses and some Vintage Photo and BlackSoot Distress Inks for the edges.
